- Park outside the historic center (like the Schlosscenter garage) as the old town has narrow streets and restricted zones.
- The glass cube on the historic Rothschildschloss provides a striking architectural contrast and a great photo opportunity.
- Since the city is in the heart of the Mostviertel, trying the local pear cider is an absolute must.

Waidhofen an der Ybbs, located in southwestern Lower Austria, is a city with a deep-rooted history in the iron industry. As the center of the Eisenwurzen, it was for centuries a hub for the iron trade from the Styrian Erzberg. Geographically, the town is set in the foothills of the Alps in the Ybbs valley. The historical town center is characterized by an impressive number of towers, which earned Waidhofen the nickname City of Towers. Rothschild Castle, which was remodeled in the Neo-Gothic style by Albert Salomon Anselm von Rothschild in the 19th century, dominates the cityscape and now houses modern event spaces and the 5 Elements Museum. The architecture ranges from late Gothic townhouses on the Upper Town Square to modern glass elements that have been cleverly integrated into the historical structure. Economically, the city has evolved from heavy industry to specialized metal processing and services. Demographically, the city is a stable center for the surrounding mountain communities and gives a rich cultural life and first-class educational facilities.
