La Falda
La Falda is a classic destination in the Punilla Valley, largely developed around the majestic Eden Hotel, a 19th-century luxury resort that once hosted prominent international figures. Today, the hotel serves as a museum and historical monument, offering guided daytime and night tours that explore its grand architecture and local legends. Nature enthusiasts are drawn to the Siete Cascadas (Seven Waterfalls) complex, a series of artificial cascades formed by the San Jerónimo dam, surrounded by recreational areas and dense pine forests. The town also hosts the annual National Tango Festival every July, transforming the local cafes and theaters into animated hubs of music and dance. Located just 70 kilometers from Córdoba city, La Falda is easily accessible via Route 38, making it a popular weekend getaway for locals. The best time to visit is during the summer months from December to February to fully enjoy the waterfalls and outdoor pools, or in July for the tango festivities.
