Cosquín
Cosquín is a lively city in the Punilla Valley, set along the banks of the Cosquín River at the foot of the Pan de Azúcar mountain. It is most famous for the Cosquín National Folklore Festival, the most important folk music event in Argentina, held every January. During this time, the city comes alive with music, dancing, and traditional food stalls selling regional delicacies. The rest of the year, visitors can enjoy the sandy river beaches (balnearios) and take a chairlift up the Pan de Azúcar for panoramic views of the entire valley. The local culture is deeply rooted in Argentine traditions. Summer is the peak season due to the festival and river activities. It is easily accessible by Route 38 or the scenic Tren de las Sierras railway.
