Queen Elizabeth National Park has an incredible variety of landscapes, from savannas and wetlands to crater lakes. One of the most fascinating attractions is the tree-climbing lions in the Ishasha sector, a rare phenomenon worldwide. A boat trip on the Kazinga Channel allows for spectacular sightings of elephants, buffaloes, and one of the world's highest concentrations of hippos. The park is also a birdwatcher's paradise, with over 600 recorded species. The natural setting with the snow-capped Rwenzori Mountains in the background is wide-open. Visitors can stay in luxury lodges or simple camps. The best time for safaris is during the dry seasons (January-February and June-August). The park is easily accessible by road from Kampala or Kasese.
