The Lebap Cement Plant in eastern Turkmenistan is a strategically important industrial facility commissioned in 2013. With a production capacity of approximately one million tons of cement per year, the plant meets a significant portion of the construction industry's demands in the Lebap region and across the country. The facility utilizes the rich limestone and clay deposits of the nearby Köýtendag Mountains. By employing modern dry-process cement manufacturing technology, the plant is more efficient and environmentally friendly than older facilities. The cement produced here, particularly high-quality Portland cement, is used for building bridges, high-rise buildings, and industrial sites nationwide. A portion of the production is also designated for export to neighboring countries such as Afghanistan and Uzbekistan, strengthening regional trade relations. The plant is a central component of the Garlyk industrial park and has significantly driven economic development in the previously less industrialized east of Turkmenistan.
