Villars-sur-Glâne is a modern and low-tax municipality in the canton of Fribourg, directly bordering the cantonal capital. The community is situated on a strategically advantageous plateau above the Saane and Glâne rivers, giving it a unique topographical setting. Historically significant landmarks include the Sainte-Apolline chapel and the medieval bridge of the same name, once a vital point on the Way of Saint James that today continues to attract hikers. Over the past fifty years, Villars-sur-Glâne has experienced massive population growth, evolving into a preferred residential area for families and professionals.
