Belp is a growing municipality in the canton of Bern, located at the entrance to the Gürbe Valley. The town is regionally known as the site of Bern-Belp Airport, which plays an important role in regional air traffic and government flights. Historically, the settlement dates back to the 13th century, with Belp Castle remaining a significant landmark from that period. Today, it houses cultural institutions and administrative offices, among other things. Its geographical location between the Belpberg to the east and the Aare River to the west characterizes the landscape and provides numerous recreational opportunities. In recent decades, Belp has evolved from an agriculturally dominated village into a modern service and residential center within the Bern agglomeration. The connection to the S-Bahn network has significantly promoted this growth. Economically, in addition to the airport, various medium-sized companies in the metal construction and food processing sectors are based there, making Belp a stable economic location.
