Robanov Kot Landscape Park (Slovenia)

Weather…

Robanov Kot is one of the most beautiful and well-preserved glacial valleys in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps, protected as a landscape park since 1950. The valley spans an area of about 14.5 square kilometers and is framed by majestic peaks such as Ojstrica (2350 m). Unlike the neighboring Logar Valley, Robanov Kot is closed to general motor traffic, which has helped preserve its pristine nature and extraordinary tranquility. The valley is characterized by a harmonious blend of alpine wilderness and centuries-old peasant cultural landscape. The eponymous Roban farm is one of the oldest mountain farms in the region, mentioned in written records as early as 1426. Hikers find a network of paths leading through dense forests, across alpine meadows, and along the Bela stream, with a strong focus on maintaining traditional alpine farming and biodiversity.
