Raduha (Slovenia)

Weather…

Raduha is a prominent limestone mountain in the eastern part of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps in Slovenia, reaching an elevation of 2,062 meters. It forms a vast plateau known for its dramatic northern walls, which are highly regarded by mountain climbers for their challenging routes. One of the mountain's most significant features is the Snežna jama (Snow Cave), located at an altitude of 1,556 meters, making it the highest tourist cave in Slovenia. The cave is renowned for its year-round ice formations and unique subterranean biodiversity. Geologically, Raduha consists mainly of Triassic limestone, which has led to the development of various karst phenomena across its surface. The surrounding alpine pastures, such as Grohat, remain active sites for traditional high-altitude farming and provide a habitat for rare alpine flora like edelweiss. From its summit, the mountain gives expansive views over the Savinja Valley and towards the neighboring Karawanks and Julian Alps.
