Historically, the settlement is characterized by its agricultural structure, with viticulture serving as the most important economic foundation for centuries. Architecturally, the parish church of St. Barbara is of great significance, first mentioned in the 12th century and dominating the local skyline. The municipality covers an area of approximately 32 square kilometers and consists of several hamlets known for the region's traditional architecture. In recent decades, Cirkulane has developed into a center for rural tourism, with hiking trails and wine roads opening up the hilly topography to visitors.
