Weather…

The Kvačianska Valley (Kvačianska dolina) is a photogenic karst valley deeply carved into the Choč Mountains in the Liptov region. The dense, primeval-like forests and steep rock faces create an atmosphere of complete seclusion, even though the valley is a popular hiking destination. The absolute centerpiece and cultural highlight of the gorge is the settlement of Oblazy, home to two masterfully restored historic water mills dating back to the 19th century. These characterful wooden structures, tucked away in untouched nature right on the banks of the rushing Kvačianka stream, serve today as a living open-air museum and technical monument illustrating the traditional way of life and work from the past. The hiking trail through the valley, which is often combined with the neighboring Prosiecka gorge to form an extended circuit, passes dizzying viewpoints such as Roháč, from where one can gaze deep into the canyon. The valley provides a fascinating contrast between wild nature and harmoniously integrated historic folk architecture.
