Liberation Museum Mulindi (Rwanda)

Weather…

The Liberation Museum in Mulindi, officially the Campaign Against Genocide Museum, is located within the Parliament building in Kigali but was originally based in Mulindi. It documents the story of the four-year liberation struggle by the Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF), which began in 1990 and culminated in stopping the genocide in July 1994. The museum showcases the military strategies and decisive battles led by the RPF. It explains how the RPF stopped the genocide when the international community failed to intervene. A notable part of the exhibit is the underground bunker that served as the headquarters for the RPF's political wing. The museum pays tribute to the soldiers who fell in the struggle and the leaders who planned and executed the liberation war.
