Junglinster is located in eastern Luxembourg and serves as the main town of the largest municipality by area in the Grevenmacher canton. The settlement has a long tradition dating back to the Middle Ages, but is best known today for its role in telecommunications history. Since the 1930s, the distinctive RTL transmission towers have been located here, with their long-wave transmitters once being among the most powerful private stations globally. Geographically, Junglinster is defined by a hilly landscape dominated by agriculture and vast forested areas. Its proximity to the Müllerthal region, known as Little Switzerland, makes the area a key hub for nature-oriented tourism. In recent decades, the town has evolved from a purely agrarian settlement into a modern service and residential center, benefiting from excellent transport links to the capital. Culturally, the nearby Bourglinster Castle is a major focal point, renowned for its gastronomy and high-profile events.
