The PC-96 business zone (Poslovni Centar 96) in Vitez is an unprecedented phenomenon of the post-war economy in Central Bosnia and a shining example of private entrepreneurship. Founded immediately after the end of the conflicts in 1996 on fallow land right next to the main M-5 transport artery, the zone grew rapidly within a few years. From the first temporary sales halls, one of the largest and most flourishing commercial and light industry centers in the country emerged. Today, the zone hosts hundreds of companies, including huge furniture stores (such as FIS Vitez, which originated here), car dealerships, DIY stores, logistics centers, and factories for textiles and packaging. PC-96 not only attracts thousands of employees from the entire Lašva Valley but is also an important shopping destination for customers from all over Bosnia.
