Pruzhany Palace (Belarus)

Weather…

Pruzhany Palace, widely known as 'Pruzhanski palazyk', is a unique rural residence in Belarus built in the style of an Italianate villa. The mansion was constructed in the mid-19th century, around 1843-1850, for the Shchors family based on designs by the architect Francisco Maria Lanci. Its architecture is characterized by its asymmetry, a prominent two-story tower, and elegant terraces, which was highly unusual for the region at the time. The palace is surrounded by a large English-style landscape park containing a variety of native and exotic plant species. Following an extensive restoration in the 1990s, the building now functions as a museum of local history and culture. Visitors can explore reconstructed interiors that provide a glimpse into the lifestyle of the 19th-century nobility. The palace stands as one of the best-preserved examples of Romantic villa architecture in Eastern Europe.
