Jebel Dhanna (United Arab Emirates)

Weather…

Jebel Dhanna is a prominent coastal area and elevated landform located in the western region of the Abu Dhabi emirate, approximately 240 kilometers from the capital. Geologically, the region is characterized by light-colored limestone cliffs and gypsum deposits that directly meet the deep blue waters of the Persian Gulf. Historically, the area was a significant hub for pearl diving before transforming into a strategic center for the oil industry in the mid-20th century. It hosts one of the country's major oil terminals, where crude oil from onshore fields is loaded onto tankers for export. Beyond its industrial importance, Jebel Dhanna gives memorable coastal scenery with natural beaches and cliffs that serve as havens for various seabird species. The offshore waters are rich in marine life, featuring coral banks and populations of dugongs. The region also serves as the primary gateway to Sir Bani Yas Island, as it houses the main ferry terminal. The combination of industrial significance and pristine natural beauty makes Jebel Dhanna a unique location on the western coastline of the UAE.
