The Pribugskaya Plain is located in southwestern Belarus, primarily covering the western portion of the Brest Region along the border with Poland. This geomorphological unit is part of the larger Polesia Lowland and is characterized by a flat, occasionally slightly undulating terrain shaped by Pleistocene glacial deposits and subsequent fluvial processes. The average elevation above sea level ranges from 130 to 150 meters, with the lowest points found in the valleys of the Bug River and its tributaries. Geologically, the area is dominated by sandy and sandy-loam sediments, often overlain by peat layers in depressions. Historically, the region was famous for its vast marshlands, many of which were drained during the 20th century for agricultural purposes. Today, the landscape is a mosaic of farmland, pine forests, and remaining wetlands, playing a significant role in the regional water cycle and supporting diverse ecosystems.
