The city sits on a vast geothermal basin, and almost every hotel provides natural thermal water directly to its rooms. It is a major center for wellness, health, and relaxation tourism in South America. Besides the hot springs, the city has the Autódromo Termas de Río Hondo, a modern circuit that regularly hosts MotoGP and other international motor racing events.
