Las Grutas
Las Grutas is a popular beach resort located in the Río Negro province of Argentine Patagonia. It is famous for its relatively warm ocean waters, which can reach up to 25°C in summer, a rarity for this southern region. The coastline is characterized by dramatic cliffs and natural caves (grutas) carved by the sea, which give the town its name. Visitors flock here to enjoy the wide sandy beaches, swim in the ocean, and observe local marine life like sea lions. The local gastronomy features excellent fresh seafood, including Patagonia toothfish and crab. The best time to visit is during the Southern Hemisphere summer, from December to March.
