Since the early 20th century, Myrhorod has been one of Ukraine's premier balneological resorts, famous for its unique mineral water which was accidentally discovered while searching for drinking water. The city's resort center is located within a sprawling park featuring numerous sanatoriums, mud baths, and an artificial pond known as the "Gogol Pond." In addition to medical facilities, Myrhorod hosts a well-known ceramics school and a museum of ceramics, documenting the long tradition of the craft in the Poltava region.
