Kremenchuk Oil Refinery (Ukraine)

Weather…

The Kremenchuk Oil Refinery is Ukraine's largest crude oil processing facility, operated by the Ukrtatnafta joint-stock company. The refinery was commissioned in 1966 and is located in Kremenchuk on the banks of the Dnieper River. With a nominal processing capacity of approximately 18.6 million tons of crude oil per year, it has long been the primary supplier of gasoline, diesel, and aviation fuel to the Ukrainian market. The facility is strategically vital as it can process domestic crude from the fields of the Poltava region and is also linked to the international pipeline system. Over several decades, the refinery underwent modernizations to produce fuels meeting European quality standards (Euro-5). During the 2022 Russian invasion, the plant suffered severe damage from massive missile strikes, leading to a temporary halt in production and a national fuel crisis. Rebuilding and securing this facility is a priority for the Ukrainian energy sector, as it guarantees independence from fuel imports.
