Dzharylhatsk National Nature Park (Ukraine)

Weather…

Dzharylhatsk National Nature Park encompasses Dzharylhach Island in the Black Sea, the largest uninhabited island in Ukraine and Central Europe. Located in the Kherson region, the island is often called the "Ukrainian Maldives" due to its vast white sandy beaches and crystal-clear azure waters. Stretching over 42 kilometers in length, the island is a haven for wildlife, including mouflons, fallow deer, and wild horses that roam freely across the grasslands and salt marshes. Dolphins are frequently spotted in the surrounding sea, while numerous lagoons provide critical nesting grounds for rare bird species. A historic landmark of the island is the old lighthouse, built in 1902, which according to popular local legend was designed by the studio of Gustave Eiffel. The park was established in 2009 to protect this unique coastal ecosystem, which features a rare combination of untouched maritime shores and original steppe flora. Visitors reach the island by boat from Skadovsk, enjoying the absolute tranquility and natural beauty of this secluded paradise.
