The Biloozerskyi National Nature Park was established on December 11, 2009, and is located in the Kyiv and Cherkasy Oblasts on the left bank of the Kaniv Reservoir on the Dnieper. Spanning approximately 7,014 hectares, it is characterized by its extensive pine forests and marshy areas. Originally, the territory served as an exclusive hunting ground for state officials, which paradoxically led to nature being preserved in an almost pristine state. Geographically, the region is defined by sandy terraces and numerous small lakes that provide important habitat for waterfowl and otters. The flora includes rare species such as sundew and various orchid species that thrive in the wet depressions. Today, the park focuses on the protection of threatened species and the restoration of natural forest structures. Scientific studies here examine the impact of the reservoir on local groundwater levels and the associated ecosystems. Getting there
Biloozerskyi National Nature Park is located south of Kyiv and is best reached by car via the main highway toward Cherkasy. Since the park encompasses extensive forested areas along the Dnieper reservoir, it is advisable to plan your approach through towns like Pereiaslav.
Best season
Every season has its appeal: spring brings fresh greenery, while autumn paints the extensive deciduous forests in animated colors. In summer, the coastal landscapes along the Dnieper are very inviting, though visitors should bring insect repellent for the mosquitoes near the woods.

The terrain is a mix of flat coastal areas and gently undulating forest landscapes with numerous hiking paths and forest tracks. The ground can be sandy near the shoreline, while forest trails are mostly firm and pleasant for walking, making it good for extended nature strolls.
