Plečnik House, located in the Trnovo district of Ljubljana, was the home and studio of Jože Plečnik, the visionary architect who defined the modern identity of Slovenia's capital. He acquired the property in 1921 and gradually redesigned it to suit his unique functionalist and aesthetic principles, merging modernism with classical antiquity. The museum complex includes the preserved living quarters, his creative studio, a meticulously planned garden, and an extensive collection of original sketches, models, and personal belongings. Visitors gain intimate insight into the mind of the architect behind iconic structures such as the Triple Bridge and the National University Library. The interiors remain in their original state, showcasing Plečnik’s humble lifestyle and intense dedication to his craft. The garden acts as an outdoor laboratory for his architectural experiments. The site is currently protected as a cultural monument of national importance.
