Vyksa Steel Works (Russia)

Weather…

The Vyksa Steel Works, located in the Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, is one of the oldest continuously operating metallurgical centers in Russia and simultaneously one of the most technologically advanced. The plant's history dates back to 1757 when the industrialist Batashev brothers laid the foundation for iron processing in the region. Today, the facility is the flagship of the United Metallurgical Company (OMK) and has established itself globally as a dominant manufacturer of large-diameter steel pipes for the oil and gas industry. The pipes produced in Vyksa have been used for massive international pipeline projects such as Nord Stream and TurkStream. In addition to pipe production, the plant is a global market leader in the manufacture of massive solid railway wheels that support the heavy freight trains on the vast Eurasian rail network. Massive investments in state-of-the-art electric arc furnaces have made Vyksa a prime example of efficient and relatively eco-friendly steel processing in Russia.
