💡 Tips
- Take advantage of the historic health trails (terrenkurs) built by the sanatoriums for gentle, scenic walking.
- Bring cash (rubles), as international credit cards are often not accepted and local ATMs can be unreliable.
- Minibuses (marshrutkas) are the cheapest way to travel along the coast to nearby Alushta or Yalta, but they get crowded quickly.
- The pebble beaches can be hard on the feet; buying a pair of water shoes from a local kiosk is highly recommended.

Chaika is located near Alushta on the easy on the eye southern coast of Crimea and is a place that primarily stands for peace and health recovery. The settlement is set in lush subtropical vegetation and is protected by the foothills of the Crimean Mountains, which creates a particularly mild and healing microclimate. The local beach, which also includes a well-known nudist area (Нудистский пляж), consists mainly of pebbles and gives the clear, deep blue water of the Black Sea.
