Alabuga Special Economic Zone (Russia)

Weather…

The Alabuga Special Economic Zone in the Republic of Tatarstan is the prime example of successful regional development and industrial diversification in modern Russia. Since its founding in 2006 on a field near the city of Yelabuga, it has evolved into the largest and most profitable free-trade zone in the country. The federal and regional governments created an unprecedented investment climate here, massively attracting foreign and domestic capital. Alabuga features companies ready-made, first-class infrastructure, ranging from roads and railways to its own power stations, as well as significant tax breaks and customs exemptions. As a result, dozens of international corporations have established operations here, manufacturing products such as automotive components, fiberglass, chemicals, paper, and consumer goods. Through its strategic location near the Volga River and its immediate proximity to the automotive clusters in Naberezhnye Chelny, Alabuga has established itself as an indispensable growth engine for the entire Volga-Kama industrial region.
