Garden of Dreams (Nepal)

Weather…

The Garden of Dreams (Swapna Bagaicha), an oasis of tranquility in the heart of bustling Kathmandu, is an exquisite neoclassical garden. It was designed and built in the early 1920s by Field Marshal Kaiser Shamsher Rana, inspired by the Edwardian gardens of England. The garden, originally part of the larger Kaiser Mahal palace complex, fell into disrepair after the death of its creator. However, between 2000 and 2007, it was meticulously restored with the support of the Austrian government. Today, the restored area covers about half of the original size and captivates with its elegant pavilions, fountains, pergolas, and a rich variety of flowers and plants. The six pavilions are named after the six seasons of Nepal. The garden is a popular spot for locals and tourists to escape the noise and hustle of the city, read a book, or simply enjoy the beauty and peace.
