💡 Tips
- Plan activities for the early morning: the heat in the Terai region can be very oppressive in the afternoon.
- Use cycle rickshaws for short distances within the city; always negotiate the fare before starting your ride.
- The nearby Gadhimai Temple in Bariyarpur (approx. 7 km away) is a major pilgrimage site and can be reached via local bus or taxi.
- Since the city is a busy agricultural hub, roads can get dusty-bringing a light scarf or face mask is a good idea.
- Respect local customs at temples: always remove your shoes before stepping onto sacred grounds.
