Masna Luka is an easy on the eye high-altitude valley located in the heart of Durmitor National Park, lying at an elevation of approximately 1600 meters. The valley is particularly famous for its dense forest of black pine and spruce, providing a stark contrast to the surrounding barren mountain peaks. Geologically, Masna Luka was shaped by glacial activity, which is reflected in its gentle valley floor and steep side walls. Historically, the valley served as a sanctuary for shepherds and their livestock during fierce summer storms. The microclimate in Masna Luka is cooler and more humid than in the more exposed parts of the massif due to the thick forest cover.
