The Tuzi agricultural region, located southeast of the capital Podgorica and near the Albanian border, represents one of the most productive agrarian zones in Montenegro. The area is defined by the vast Ćemovsko Field, which provides well-suited conditions for viticulture due to its sandy soil composition and high solar exposure. It hosts one of Europe's largest single-complex vineyards, managed by the state-owned company Plantaže. Beyond wine production, Tuzi is a hub for fruit and vegetable cultivation, with watermelons, tomatoes, and peppers being key products for both the domestic market and export. The proximity to Lake Skadar influences the local climate, enabling an extended growing season. Economically, the region benefits from its strategic position along the railway line and main road connecting to Albania, facilitating efficient trade exchange.
