Visiting
The Molovata Cliffs are a free natural viewpoint with no access restrictions. You can hike to the cliffs anytime and enjoy the spectacular view over the Dniester reservoir.
Typical hours
As a free natural area, there are no opening hours. Access is possible anytime, but daytime is recommended for safety reasons.
Photography
Photography is unrestricted. The white limestone formations and wide lake offer wide-open panoramas, especially at sunset.
Time needed
A visit typically takes one to two hours, including the short climb to the cliffs and time to enjoy the view. For longer walks along the shore, allow more.
Combine with
Combine your visit with a boat trip on the Dniester reservoir or a trip to the nearby nature reserve. The village of Molovata also gives local dining.
Getting there
The cliffs are about 40 km northeast of Chișinău. By car, follow the M2 towards Dubăsari then local roads; parking is possible at the base of the cliffs.

Visit the cliffs in late afternoon for the best light. Wear sturdy shoes as the climb can be rocky. Bring plenty of water.
