The Ivancea Landscape Reserve is located in the Orhei District, about 40 kilometers north of Chișinău, and forms part of the Central Moldovan Plateau. The reserve covers an area of approximately 1,000 hectares and is characterized by its hilly topography and dense deciduous forests. The vegetation mainly consists of sessile oak, hornbeam, and ash, with some trees reaching over 150 years in age. Geologically, the area is defined by erosional valleys and limestone outcrops that create a varied landscape. The reserve is home to a rich fauna, including roe deer, wild boars, and numerous protected bird species. Nearby Ivancea village features the Balioz Manor, a 19th-century architectural monument that currently houses the Museum of Folk Crafts. The combination of untouched nature and cultural-historical sites makes Ivancea a key destination for hikers and history enthusiasts. The reserve contributes significantly to maintaining the ecological balance within the Codru region.
