A 'thila' refers to a submerged pinnacle reef, and this particular site, measuring about 80 meters in diameter, is world-renowned for its extraordinary density of marine life. It is most famous for night diving, when the reef transforms into a high-octane hunting ground for whitetip reef sharks, grey reef sharks, and giant trevallies. The underwater topography is riddled with caves, overhangs, and crevices adorned with animated soft corals and sea fans.
