Lake Dusia (Lithuania)

Weather…

Lake Dusia, respectfully known as the 'Sea of Dzūkija', is the third-largest lake in Lithuania and a true natural gem within the Meteliai Regional Park. Its vast, open expanses of water and remarkably shallow, fine sandy shorelines give visitors the distinct feeling of standing on a real sea coast. The excellent water quality and gently sloping beaches make the lake a favored summer destination for families, swimmers, and windsurfers alike. However, Dusia is not only a place of recreation but also a critical ecological hub; during autumn and spring, thousands of migratory birds rest here, providing excellent opportunities for birdwatching. The surrounding pine forests, which conceal numerous rare plant species, invite visitors for relaxing walks. A modern visitor center is situated on the shore, offering comprehensive information about the region's rich biodiversity.
