💡 Tips
- Pristina’s coffee culture is legendary; their macchiato is widely considered some of the best in Europe. Take time to sit and people-watch.
- The Mother Teresa Boulevard is a pedestrian zone that truly comes alive in the evening for the traditional "korza" (evening stroll).
- The Euro is the official currency; keep small bills and coins handy as many small bakeries and cafes don't accept cards.
- Traffic and parking in the center can be chaotic; it's best to walk or use the very affordable local taxis.

Pristina is the political, cultural, and economic hub of Kosovo, a city in constant transformation. A symbol of the country's independence is the NEWBORN monument, which is redesigned every year. The city features a fascinating blend of Ottoman heritage, Yugoslav-era brutalist architecture, and modern glass buildings. Particularly striking is the National Library, with its distinctive design featuring domes and metal latticework. The heart of the city is Mother Teresa Boulevard, a wide pedestrian street where social life unfolds. Here, you will find countless cafés famous for their excellent macchiato, often cited as the best outside of Italy. In the old town, the 15th-century Imperial Mosque and the old clock tower bear witness to the long history under Ottoman rule. Pristina is a very pedestrian-friendly city in the center, and also serves as a good base for trips to the nearby Gračanica Monastery or the Pristina Bear Sanctuary. Culinarically, you should definitely try Flija, a traditional layered dish. The best time to visit is spring or autumn when temperatures are pleasant for sightseeing. The international airport connects the city with major European capitals.
