Shah Cheragh
Shah Cheragh is a significant funerary monument and mosque in Shiraz, housing the remains of Ahmad and Muhammad, the brothers of Imam Reza. The name translates to 'King of the Light,' originating from a legend that a bright light was discovered over the burial site. The structure was first expanded into a monumental sanctuary in the 14th century under Queen Tashi Khatun. Shah Cheragh is famous primarily for its panoramic interior decoration made of millions of tiny mirror mosaics (Aineh-kari), which reflect light in all directions and create a mystical atmosphere. The silver doors and the magnificent dome are examples of the high craftsmanship of the Zand and Qajar eras. Today, the site is one of the most important pilgrimage destinations in Iran, attracting visitors with its spiritual significance and architectural beauty.
