Hlusk is a historic urban-type settlement in the Mogilev Region of central Belarus, situated on the banks of the Ptich River. First mentioned in the 14th century, it was a strategically important location owned by prominent noble families, including the Holszański and later the Radziwiłłs. In the 17th century, a formidable fortress with earthwork bastions was constructed here; its remains (the castle mound) are still visible today and serve as a reminder of its military significance. For centuries, Hlusk was a center of crafts and trade, featuring a substantial Jewish community until the mid-20th century. The town's cultural heritage is preserved in the local museum, which documents the history of the Hlusk Castle and the surrounding area. The environment is characterized by dense mixed forests typical of the Belarusian plains. Today, Hlusk is primarily known as an agricultural hub with several wood-processing enterprises.
