Mfou

Mfou is primarily visited as the gateway to the Mfou Reserve, which houses the renowned Ape Action Africa primate sanctuary. This conservation center provides a safe haven for rescued gorillas, chimpanzees, and various monkey species orphaned by the illegal bushmeat and pet trades. Visitors come here to observe these incredible primates in expansive, forested enclosures that mimic their natural habitat. The town itself is surrounded by the dense, humid rainforest characteristic of the Centre Region.
