Cathedral of Our Lady of Victories

The Cathedral of Our Lady of Victories (Notre-Dame des Victoires) is the religious landmark of Yaoundé, located in the heart of the Cameroonian capital at Place de la Poste. Construction of this impressive sacred building began in 1952 and it was consecrated in 1955, shortly before the country's independence. The cathedral's architecture is a blend of modernist and brutalist elements, characterized by massive concrete structures and clear geometric shapes. With a capacity of over 5,000 seats, it is one of the largest churches in Central Africa and a center for national religious celebrations.
