Bobovac
Bobovac was the most important fortress of the medieval Bosnian state, serving as the seat of the Bosnian kings from the 14th century until the fall of the kingdom to the Ottomans in 1463. Located near Vareš on a steep, rocky hill, it offered a strategic defensive position overlooking the central Bosnian mountains. The site contains the remains of the royal court, a chapel with the burial ground of several Bosnian kings, and impressive fortification walls. Today, the ruins are a significant national monument, offering visitors a hauntingly beautiful glimpse into the medieval past and memorable views of the surrounding wilderness.
