The town features a unique geography, as it is situated amidst five lakes, earning it the moniker of the 'Venice of Belarus.' Its architectural heritage is distinguished by grand religious structures, such as the Orthodox Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, originally built in the 17th century as a Baroque Carmelite monastery church. The Catholic Church of the Holy Trinity, dating back to 1782, also stands as a testament to the town's religious diversity. In modern times, Hlybokaye is widely known for its food industry, particularly the production of sweetened condensed milk, which is celebrated as a local symbol.
