The Church of St. Joseph in Lyakhavichy is a striking example of Neo-Gothic sacred architecture in western Belarus. The current church was constructed in 1907 using spirited red brick, replacing earlier Catholic structures in the town. Lyakhavichy was historically famous for its formidable fortress, and today the church serves as the town's architectural centerpiece. The building is characterized by its steep gables, pointed arched windows, and intricate brick ornamentation typical of the early 20th-century Neo-Gothic style. During the Soviet era, the church was secularized and repurposed as a warehouse, which led to significant damage to its interior fittings and altars. Following its return to the Catholic community in the 1990s, the building underwent extensive renovations and was rededicated for worship. The church stands not only as a place of prayer but also as a vital symbol of the region's cultural and spiritual rebirth.
