Ararat Cement Factory (Armenia)

Weather…

The Ararat Cement Factory, officially known as Araratcement, is one of the leading cement producers in Armenia. It is located in the town of Ararat in the province of the same name, a region rich in limestone and clay deposits essential for cement production. Founded in 1927, the plant played a pivotal role in supplying construction materials for Armenia's massive industrialization and urbanization during the Soviet period. It contributed to the construction of numerous major infrastructure projects, residential buildings, and industrial facilities across the country. The factory traditionally uses the dry production process, which is energy-intensive. Over the years, modernization efforts have been undertaken to increase efficiency and reduce the environmental impact, particularly dust and pollutant emissions. As one of the largest industrial enterprises in the country, Araratcement is a significant employer in the region and a key supplier to Armenia's construction industry, also exporting a portion of its production to neighboring countries like Georgia and Iran.
