Ararat Valley Vineyards (Armenia)

Weather…

The Ararat Valley, stretching at the foot of the biblical Mount Ararat, is the heart of Armenian agriculture and especially viticulture. This sun-drenched plain with its fertile volcanic soil is considered one of the oldest wine-growing regions in the world. Archaeological findings prove that wine has been cultivated here for over 6,000 years. The vineyards of the valley produce a variety of indigenous grape varieties that are essential for the production of world-class wines and the famous Armenian brandy. The dry climate and abundant sunshine create good conditions for growing grapes with a high sugar concentration. A visit to the vineyards not only features insights into the ancient wine culture but also sweeping views of the snow-capped peak of Ararat.
