Sierra de la Ventana is a popular tourist destination in the southwest of the Buenos Aires province, located in the Ventania mountain range. The town is named after its most famous landmark, the "Casillero del Diablo" or the "Window," a natural 8-meter hole near the summit of Cerro Ventana, reachable via a rewarding hike. The area is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, offering trekking, horseback riding, mountain biking, and trout fishing in the local streams. The Ernesto Tornquist Provincial Park protects the region's biodiversity. The town itself has a relaxed, alpine village feel, with excellent local breweries and tearooms. Located about 550 km from Buenos Aires city, it is accessible via Provincial Route 76. It is a year-round destination, though spring and autumn offer the most comfortable temperatures for hiking, while winter sometimes brings light snow to the peaks.
