Weather…

Nami Island is a crescent-shaped river island located in the Bukhan River in Chuncheon, approximately 63 kilometers from Seoul. The island was formed in 1944 following the construction of the Cheongpyeong Dam, which flooded the surrounding area. Covering an area of about 460,000 square meters, it was developed into a cultural and natural park starting in 1966 by Minn Byeong-do. The island is world-renowned for its photogenic paths lined with Metasequoia, ginkgo, and cherry trees, which provide spirited colors throughout the year. In 2006, the island symbolically declared its independence as the 'Naminara Republic,' establishing its own flag, currency, and passport system to enhance its cultural branding. With a strict ban on motor vehicles, the island maintains a tranquil environment, hosting numerous art galleries, museums, and eco-friendly facilities.
