Munamjin-ri is located in the northern part of Gangwon Province and has one of South Korea's most spectacular coastal landscapes. The village is famous for Munam Beach, home to the impressive Neungpadae rocks, honeycomb-like granite structures formed by weathering. Jajakdo Beach is particularly popular with families due to its shallow and calm waters, while Baekdo Beach invites long walks with its fine white sand and numerous seashells. The region is a paradise for seafood lovers, especially for fresh squid and sashimi served directly in local harbor restaurants. Despite its proximity to the DMZ, a peaceful atmosphere prevails here. Access is best via bus from Sokcho or by car along the scenic Coastal Road 7, which provides wide-open views of the Pacific Ocean throughout the journey.
