Veľká Lomnica, broadly situated in the Poprad Basin beneath the craggy peaks of the High Tatras in eastern Slovakia, is a historical village that has developed into a modern tourist center. Historically closely associated with the Carpathian Germans, the village preserves the late Gothic Catholic Church of St. Catherine of Alexandria, a national cultural monument. Today, however, the transformation of Veľká Lomnica is defined by the exclusive Black Stork Golf Resort, the largest 27-hole golf course in Slovakia, which features spectacular views of the Tatra massif. Thanks to its strategic location just a few kilometers from the alpine ski resorts of Tatranská Lomnica and its growing wellness infrastructure, the village is now an elegant retreat for golfers, families, and mountain vacationers.
