💡 Tips
- The highly mineralized water has a strong sulfur smell and leaves a slightly reddish tint; it is best to wear older swimsuits.
- Take a walk along the Spa Trail (Kúpeľný chodník) which nicely connects the main springs and natural travertine formations.
- As one of the sunniest and warmest spa towns in Slovakia, do not forget sun protection during the summer months.
- Look for the ancient 'Roman Baths' in the forest-small travertine pools carved into the rock by locals centuries ago.

Water temperature…
Dudince is one of the warmest and sunniest places in Slovakia, located in the rolling hills of the Hont region. The town's international fame stems from its unique mineral water, which is a global rarity: it contains high concentrations of both carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide. Similar water compositions can only be found in Vichy (France) or Japan. This rare combination allows for the simultaneous treatment of musculoskeletal and cardiovascular disorders. A historical highlight in the spa park is the so-called 'Roman Baths' (Rímske kúpele), a collection of 32 hand-cut travertine basins. Although popularly attributed to Roman legionaries, they were more likely used by locals in later centuries to harness the healing springs. Today, the modern 'Dudinka' summer lido gives fun and relaxation for families, while high-end sanatoriums like Rubín and Smaragd provide professional medical treatments and wellness programs. The surrounding area is a noted wine-growing region. Nearby Sebechleby is famous for its cluster of traditional wine cellars carved into volcanic tuff rock, offering a glimpse into authentic Slovak rural culture. Dudince is easily accessible within a two-hour drive from Bratislava or Budapest. The best time to visit is from May to September to enjoy the Mediterranean-like climate and outdoor swimming facilities.
